Western Regional Results
Seven members of the 2014 North Carolina B.A.S.S. Nation State team have now been determined after the Western Regional qualifying event took place on Lake Hickory. Sixty-six competitors took to the lake for two days of competition to determine one-half of the 2014 State team that will compete in the 2014 B.A.S.S. Nation Southern Divisional in the spring of 2014.
Day #1 saw Jody Wright on top of the leader board with 19.98 lbs. Rob Digh filled the second position with 17.02 lbs, followed closely by Mark Swink in third position with 16.98 lbs. Rounding out the top five from day #1 competition included fourth place Brian Anderson with 16.06 lbs and the youngster, Carson Orellana with 15.97lbs. Big fish honors for day #1 was awarded to Jonathon Foster with his 5.45 lb kicker.
Jody Wright held on to his lead on day #2 and earned the event win with a total two-day catch of 31.23 lbs. Jeff Hager leaped his way from a day #1 position of sixth place to finish the competition in second place with 28.83 lbs total. Rob Digh slipped a little on day #2, but still earned a third place finish with 27.24 lbs overall. Jerry Craig made the biggest move on day #2 jumping from his day #1 position of 13th place to end the event in fourth place with 26.56 lbs. Patrick King was another big mover climbing up the ladder to a fifth place finish with 26.12 lbs. Danny Murphy ended the event in sixth place with 26.07 lbs while Carson Orellana nailed down the final qualifying spot with his seventh place finish totaling 25.72 lbs. Darrell Hager earned the day #2 big fish award with his 5.30 lb catch.

The overall team standings win was taken by Riverview Bass Anglers with 100.10 lbs total cumulative team weight with Bass Casters taking the second position with 89.08 lbs total.
