The Sandy Creek Bass Masters take the Club Championship Title
Randy Groves wins State Championship with a two day total of 35.38 pounds
Randy Groves had the magic touch this weekend on Lake Gaston. Randy had back to back 5 bass limits of 17.81 lbs and 17.57 lbs to take the Championship! After Day 1, Randy was in second place trailing team mate Chuck Murray by a little over a pound but his second day catch clinched the Championship! Randy out dueled 123 other contenders for the Title, Congratulations Randy!
Sandy Creek Team 1 took the overall Club Championship Team Title with a total weight of 137.74 lbs.. Members are : Randy Groves (35.38lbs) Chuck Murray (33.05lbs), Nick Bell (21.13lbs) Jay Wright (20.20lbs, Sonny Layton (18.25lbs) Marvin Edwards (9.73lbs). Congrats to Sandy Creek Team 1.
Sandy Creek Team 3 took second place (119.07lbs), Reel em In was 3rd with (99.81lbs), Tri-County was 4th with (84.17lbs) and Pitt County was 5th with (80.37lbs.)
The seven 2013 NC Bass Federation Nation Eastern Qualifiers are: Randy Groves (Sandy Creek Bass Masters), Chuck Murray (Sandy Creek Bass Masters), Jeremy Sabo (Holly Springs Bass Masters), Cory Leonard ( Sandy Creek Bass Masters), Jeff Farrell (Reel em In Bass Masters), Dustin Hagwood (Sandy Creek Bass Masters), and Jeff Beasley (Reel em In Bass Masters).
Congrats to all the qualifiers and a special congrats to Jeremy Sabo, Cory Leonard, Jeff Farrell, Dustin Hagwood and Jeff Beasley on making their first State Team. If for some reason one of the top seven can not make the trip to the 2013 BASS Southern Divisional hosted by the Tenn. Bass Federation Nation, Mark Moore, will be first in line, along with TJ DeFelice and Bowman Gray.
Big Bass Honors:
Day 1 Mercury Big BASS Award – Adam Richardson (Warren County Bass Masters)
Day 2 Triton Big BASS Award– Ricky Ballance (Sandy Creek Bass Masters)
Each angler received $500 for their big bass catch
Big Bag Honors:
Day 1 Mercury Big Bag Award – Chuck Murray – 18.89 lbs
Day 2 Triton Big Bag Award– Randy Groves – 17.57 lbs
