2018 Bass Nation Eastern Regional Championship
Press Release: June 21st thru June 23th, Georgetown SC – 2018 Eastern Regional
North Carolina’s Bass Nation competed in the BASS Eastern Regional trying to win their third Championship title. At the end of Day 1, the NCBN found itself on top of the leader board by one pound over the Deleware Team catching 93 pounds and 7 ounces . The team ended up in 4th place out of the 18 teams competing. Only 17 pounds kept them from winning the event (Only a little less than .75 pounds per angler). Deleware claimed the Championship Title. The Delaware team won a fully rigged Triton Bass Boat with a Mercury Motor valued at $39,950.
Three hunderd and fifty anglers took to the water trying to advance to the National Championship. (175 Boaters and 175 non-boaters) Norman Mullinax took the NC title on the Boater side finishing 3rd overall and sitting on the Hot Seat for over 30 minutes overall and taking home $3,600 in prize money and Advancing to the National Championship. Jeff Hager and Adam Richardson also made the final day cut and received checks. Jeff fished second on the NC Team and 7th overall. Adam finished 3rd on the team and 19th overall.
On the Non-Boater side, Angela Mayo was crowned the NC Non-Boater Champion coming in 1st place on the NC Team and 16th place over all. She is the first female angler on the NC Team to advance to the National Championship. Only three female anglers have ever made it to the National Championship.
Norman Mullinax will compete as a boater on Lake Picwick in the B.A.S.S Nation National Championship hoping to finish in the top three and advancing to the BASS MASTER CLASSIC. Angela Mayo will compete as a Non-Boater hoping to win the Prize Boat for the non-boater champion. The Non-Boater champion will be crowned after day two and will fish the final day against the Boaters with the same goal, trying to make it to the final three and a Bass Master Classic invitation!
At the B.A.S.S. Nation Championship, the Non-boater Champion will be crowned after day two. He will advance to final day of competition and chance to compete for Classic berth. The Non-boater Champion will win a Trophy, Boat/motor package, Bassmaster Opens entry as a Pro or Co-angler, and a Bassmaster Classic marshal spot.
The Boater Champion will be crowned after day three. They will cut the field of top 10 + top 2 regional leaders and non-boater champion on final day (up to 16 competitors); paired with a Marshal. The First/Second/Third place finishers win a Bassmaster Classic berth, Bassmaster Opens entry as Pro in division of choice, Boat and motor package for personal use “B.A.S.S. Nations Best” package, PLUS, the first place winner will also get a Bassmaster Elite Series berth for the following season.
